The 2016 Tonbridge SC Long Distance races have now been completed on 28 February and 6 March 2016.

Results Summary - 800m Freestyle

Congratulations to all the swimmers that entered the 800m long distance races.  An excellent night of racing and some great times.  Full results for the 800m appear here

22 swimmers completed

14 swimmers swam a PB as it was the first time they had swum that distance in a race so some great initial PBs for them.

Out of the swimmers who had swum it before, 6 of them swam a new PB – quite a few by a considerable margin

Joy Rees - Masters 50-54 Years age group

James Winnifrith - Masters 40-44 Years age group

Mike Stennulat - Masters 45-49 Years age group

All swimmers swam brilliantly but especially the younger swimmers.  They showed great grit and real determination.  Their efforts paid off with some excellent times.

There were some fascinating "duels” in a few of the heats which resulted in some great racing and close finishes
