Last weekend, the Kent County Amateur Swimming Association awarded Tonbridge Swimming Club’s Treasurer, Michele Ellis, the Edward G Maples Trophy as their Club Volunteer of 2018.  Michele then did, what she does most weekends, and judged at swimming gala in Sevenoaks and then next day was back at a pool coaching swimming.  It’s for all this voluntary work she won the County award, which recognises those that go above and beyond.

Michele Ellis became involved in the Tonbridge Swimming Club when her children swam 15 years ago, but since then she’s become a Teacher, Coach, Official, Judge, sits on the  club committee, maintains the membership data online via the ASA/Swim England and is Treasurer of the Club. She also recently qualified as a Starter and she volunteers regularly to help at many open meets, County championships and SE Regional championship sessions.
